The Weather Channel television network and Make-A-Wish? arranged for wish kid Kaylee and her family to enjoy a fun-filled day at The Weather Channel television network headquarters in Atlanta on November 19 to fulfill her wish. Kaylee, a 9-year-old aspiring meteorologist and storm tracker from Missouri City, TX, has recently battled cancer and is currently in remission.
As an avid viewer of The Weather Channel, Kaylee’s wish to meet her hero, on-camera meteorologist Jim Cantore, came true during the visit. The morning started with breakfast and a meet-and-greet with Jim Cantore, followed by a private behind-the-scenes studio tour. Kaylee also filmed an on-camera weather forecast featuring the conditions in her hometown, and prepared for the segment with a visit to hair and makeup and the wardrobe department, where she received her own The Weather Channel & Lands’ End jacket. Additionally, Kaylee got to meet most of the network's on-camera meteorologists throughout her visit. An augmented reality experience and tour of the weather trucks that are used in the field during extreme weather events were also part of the family’s itinerary during the wish visit.?
