                    The Weather Channel’s Dorren Schmitt Receives Women in Technology’s 2019 Women of the Year in Technology Award

                    The Weather Channel television network’s Dorren Schmitt has been named the Women in Technology’s (WIT) 2019 Woman of the Year in Technology Award recipient in the medium/mid-size business category. This award celebrates women technology executives for their accomplishments as leaders in business, visionaries of technology and women who make a difference in their communities.

                    As the network’s Senior Director of Information Technology, Dorren has proven herself to be an exceptional technical leader in the company, working with both the engineers in the office and the teams in the field as the network reports on storms and other extreme weather events. Dorren is redefining the corporate security strategy for The Weather Channel, has incredible technical knowledge and expertise in her field, and is always the first to respond and offer a valuable insight on behalf of her team.?

For over 25 years, Women in Technology (WIT) has worked to empower and educate women and girls about opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) by educating middle and high school girls, and young women in college, and by sharing the stories of successful professional women in STEAM.
